Delivery of Therapeutics from Layer-by-Layer Electrospun Nanofiber Matrix for Wound Healing: An Update

چکیده

Increasing incidences of chronic wounds urge the development effective therapeutic wound treatment. As conventional dressings are found not to comply with all requirements an ideal dressing, alternative and is demanded. Over past few years, electrospun nanofiber has been recognized as a better system for dressing hence studied extensively. Most were fabricated single-layer structure mats. However, this design less favorable healing mainly due its burst release effect. To address problem simulate organized skin layer's function, multilayer had proposed. This enables sustained agent(s), more resembles natural extracellular matrix. Multilayer also referred layer-by-layer (LbL), which established innovative method drug incorporation delivery, combines high surface area nanofibers mat. review focuses on LbL superior strategy in designing optimal dressing.
